“A new approach to the audiometer combining digital technology and the internet”
Internet technology has changed our behaviour and the world around us, and yet these changes have not reached our hearing aid centres. Of course, our schedules and our other management data is all online; nevertheless, we remain in a very “local” environment.
This presentation calls for an approach to audiometry based on the internet and digital technology.
Various issues involved in the measurement of hearing will be addressed (calibration, signal generation, management of speech lists, etc.), and an alternative based on these technologies will be offered.
It will then be a matter of assets that can bring these technologies into our daily lives (mobility, the ability to access and share information), as well as to research (targeted deployment of new tests, auditory big data) because it is likely that it is in these areas that it will have the greatest impact.
We dream of a world in which we will not be spending hours replacing a computer, a world in which our audiological applications are online and always up to date, a world in which it is natural to test our customers by simply connecting our transducers to any smartphone, tablet, or computer!
